New offices

Solicitors

There have been recent changes to the Solicitors Account Rules, in particular rule 15, which states that monies should be returned as soon as they are no longer required for a proper purpose, and that clients should be informed in writing of any client monies held at the end of a matter (see rule 15 (3) and (4)).
In addition there are new provisions which allow solicitors to deal with small residual balances in respect of clients which they can no longer trace – see rule 22 (viii).
