My name is Rachel Davis and I set up Just Audit in January 2006. I position Just Audit to carry out assurance type work only. I do not offer general accountancy services or tax advice, nor do I act as agent for HMRC for any client. The practice is run by me, with the addition from 2007 of a very able and friendly assistant auditor (and I am currently hoping to recruit a further member of staff).

I have been in practice since1990 and during that time have worked in small, medium and large sized accountancy practices.

My rationale for this business model began when the new Ethical Standard was published in 2005. Having studied its requirements, I anticipated that small firms may struggle with the requirements of Ethical Standard 5. In addition, I realised that there are many small firms with one or two audits for whom it may no longer be cost effective to maintain registered auditor status. The costs of compliance and keeping up to date may outweigh the potential profits to be made on these audits. Also there may be other firms that are not audit registered, such as tax specialists, which may wish to take advantage of this approach.

I have had experience of many different sizes and types of clients, which enables me to offer a broad range of audit and assurance services.  To summarise, the type of work carried out by Just Audit includes:
